Kind Of Like Syrope & Aeneas Author: Nitya & Trent Category: Romance Summary: When Daria, Jane, and Trent go to a charity concert held at the mall, Daria finds out some pretty surprising secrets about Trent. "Daria?" Trent opened the door slightly. "Are you there?" Daria, who was reading Sevrets of Babylonia, stopped and placed her bookmark to mark her spot and opened the door for him. "Yeah?" Trent bit his lower lip. "Jane wanted me to ask you if you were going to come to the show tonight." Daria's brow furrowed. "But I thought that you didn't have a show tonight, nor the day after that." Trent sighed. "Well, we got a gig at McGrundy's, so I guess we have one tomorrow also. Anyway, are you coming?" "You bet," Daria smiled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." Trent couldn't help but be amused. "Okay, see you there then." Then he turned and walked away. * * * * * * * * * * "It looks like we've got ourselves an ice storm," Jane remarked to Daria. "No," Daria said. "We've got ourselves a blizzard." Jane smirked. "Figured you'd say that." Daria couldn't help but make a face at her. Just then Trent appeared. "Hey Janey," he greeted. "How's my baby sister doing?" "Oh, stop it, Trent," Jane said lightly. "We already know you've got a sick sense of humor." "Hey!" Trent said, pretending to be injured. "At least I've got some dignity!" Daria couldn't help but laugh at his comment. Just then she caught Jane glare at her. Oh well, she thought. I guess that's her problem. "Great concert!" Joey Gerald exclaimed to Daria and Jane. "Who is this band, anyway?" "Mystic Spiral," both girls said in unison. "Cool name," Joey commented. "Well, I better go. Bye!" And with that she disappeared. "At least she's gone," Jane whispered to Daria. "I wonder if she need a brain transplant," Daria remarked dryly. "She definitely needs one, that's for sure." Jane only rolled her eyes at Daria's comment. "You've got it, sister." * * * * * * * * * * Trent sighed and flipped himself onto his bed. I'm never gonna get this done if Daria keeps barging into my mind, he thought to himself silently. Yet, he knew at the same time that he was glad to have her keeping him distracted. With that last and final thought, he fell into a dreamless sleep.
