Now we see what Madonna looked like during her "experimentation" period. This outfit from her video "Erotica" pretty much sums up that part of her career. The black leather, mask, and whip appealled to Jane's own dark side, and she immediately threw on the costume. In fact, she wore the clothes throughout the entire project, even when we were busy photographing someone else. Lane claimed it was to "stay in character." Ironically, this outfit has turned up missing from our wardrobe closet. I'm sure Jane would be very disappointed to hear that.
