Trent and Jane encounter Barbara and Earl while Trent is searching for inspiration out in the sticks. Earl invited them in for some food, and Jane and Trent quickly learn that Barbara isn't much of a cook, despite what Earl may think. For instance, she makes cheese sandwiches but neglects to remove the cheese from the cellophane first - and serves the sandwiches up with the bread still frozen.

Like her husband, Barbara is very proud of their tasteless potato chips, which "don't fight the dip".
